Interest growing in 'charmaking' technology

A company which hopes to develop a biochar industry in northern Australia says there's been strong interest in its 'charmaking' technology from potential feedstock suppliers.

Earth Systems has been investigating potential sources of forestry waste and woody weeds, which could be used to make the charcoal-based soil enhancer.

Environmental scientist Azain Raban is touring the Northern Territory with a 'charmaker' machine this week, and says he's been pleased with the level of interest it's been generating.
